Why should I take this course?
When entering the field of procurement, it is important to recognise the distinctions between the public and private sector. While both sectors require effective procurement practices, priorities and constraints can differ. In a government procurement role, acquiring the knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of public sector operations is essential. To be successful, professionals must adhere to stringent governance standards, ensure legal compliance, and promote ethical behavior to ensure public funds are spent fairly and equitably.
This course aims to simulate a real-life working environment for government procurement professionals. It will explore the key areas of the procurement lifecycle and will cover everything from procurement planning, procurement processes, contract management, risk management and governance. On completion of this course individuals will be equipped with the essential skills needed to operate independently in procurement and contracting environments within government settings.
